Festival of Museums returns to Dundee
SCOTLAND’S Festival of Museums is set to return to Dundee next month.
The festival — organised by Museums Galleries Scotland — will host more than 100 events Scotland-wide from Friday May 18 until Sunday May 20.
Over the three days of the festival, the following events are set to be held in Dundee:
Whistle While You Work, to be held on HMS Unicorn, will be a musical celebration of maritime life. Attendees are encouraged to explore the iconic attraction and hear the songs and stories of Britain’s oldest warships.
Generation Dance, which will be held at The McManus on May 19, will see audiences led on a journey through generations of dance in Dundee.
Generation Dundee, also to be held at The McManus on May 19, is a free afternoon of activities celebrating Scotland’s Year of Young People 2018. Activities include music, dance and spoken word performances from young people, gallery talks, creative workshops, and living history performances.
Sarah Burry-Hayes, marketing manager at Museums Galleries Scotland, said: “Museums and galleries in Dundee have planned a range of incredible events that will inspire local people.’’
