Other parts of city need TLC
BROKEN windows, graffiti, fallen roof riles: a building in such a poor state of repair is a sorry sight in any part of Dundee – but the condition of North Shore House is accentuated by the fact it’s in such a prominent location (see page 11).
Hundreds, of not thousands, of people drive past the property every day on their way to and from the city centre.
That includes visitors whose first impression of Dundee is this damaged and unsightly structure.
If the owner of the site is to be believed, plenty of effort has been made to bring it back into use without success.
But perhaps it needs more than just one person or one business to work on giving disused buildings like this a new lease of life.
Plenty of focus is on the waterfront at the moment, and rightly so.
However, it’s important that the rest of the city gets some TLC too, if these new visitors are to return.
