May Day talks on austerity
A GROUP that campaigns against austerity in public spending is to hold a discussion event looking at what can be done t o improve the situation for public services in Dundee.
Dundee Against Cuts’ May Day Discussion will take place tomorrow from 7-9pm at Dundee Voluntary Action’s building, Number Te n , o n C o n s t i t u t i o n Road.
The t wo-hour f orum welcomes any and all contributions from locals following a number of crises in the public sector in recent months, including the cash crisis at NHS Tayside and strikes by lecturers in higher education.
In a statement, the group said: “One year on from the council elections, and with recent strikes i n Higher Education, a continuing crisis at NHS Tayside, and Tory cuts still being passed on to the people of Dundee, come along on May Day and share your thoughts on how we respond to austerity.”
