De­nies run­ning off with baby in buggy

A DUNDEE man has been ac­cused of run­ning off with a baby in a buggy and aban­don­ing it in a street in Tay­port.

Con­nor McGowan, 23, of North Welling­ton Street, faces trial at the city’s sher­iff court in June. He de­nies that on De­cem­ber 15 2017, at Ogilvie Street and Har­bour Road in Tay­port and on roads in be­tween, he be­haved in a threat­en­ing or abu­sive man­ner to­wards a woman, re­peat­edly shouted and swore and ut­tered of­fen­sive re­marks at her.

McGowan is also al­leged to have grabbed a buggy con­tain­ing a two-year-old child from the woman, run away with it and aban­doned it in Har­bour Road.

He also de­nies that he as­saulted the woman and robbed her of a mo­bile tele­phone and a bank card at the same places on the same date.

Trial was fixed for June 21.
