Pupils’ progress praised

COUN­CIL­LORS have praised the achieve­ments of An­gus se­condary pupils fol­low­ing a pos­i­tive re­port card.

Mem­bers of An­gus Coun­cil’s chil­dren and learn­ing com­mit­tee also ac­knowl­edged the sup­port pro­vided to pupils by staff and par­ents.

Mon­trose In­de­pen­dent coun­cil­lor Mark Sal­mond said pupils were con­tin­u­ing to make progress in at­tain­ment.

Head of schools and learn­ing Pauline Stephen said: “The im­prove­ments in rais­ing at­tain­ment in An­gus can be at­trib­uted to the lead­er­ship in our schools, i mprove­ments in learn­ing and teaching, the sys­tems used for mon­i­tor­ing and track­ing young peo­ple’s progress, the con­sid­er­able sup­port from staff, par­ents and part­ners and the hard work of our young peo­ple.”
