Three on inquiry shortlist
THREE potential chairs of the independent inquiry into NHS Tayside’s mental health services have been indentified, the health board has announced.
All three candidates are said to be interested in the role, and will be invited to meet with families and stakeholders before a final decision is made on who will lead the review.
Board chairman John Brown and chief executive Malcolm Wright commissioned the i nquiry i nto mental health services following a campaign by the families of David Ramsay and Dale Thomson. Both men took their own lives having been seen by the Carseview Centre over their mental wellbeing.
Mr Brown said: “It i s important the people of Tayside know that we are making progress and we will keep everyone updated as we finalise arrangements.
“Although t he ti mescales for the inquiry will be agreed in the Terms of Reference, it would be our intention that there is an interim report provided to Tayside NHS Board by the end of September.”
