partnership with other local public and private stakeholders by December 2022.

Work with public and private sector partners will also be undertaken to explore district heating opportunities in and around Menzieshill and Coldside by April 2023.

In the report, director of city development Mike Galloway explains that a number of opportunities have been identified at Lochee, Linlathen and the Dighty corridor.

He adds: “These projects have been submitted as applications within stage one and the council will be notified of the outcome by June.

“The Lochee area has been chosen as it has a diverse range of buildings and construction types, and varying socioeconomic factors.

“It is a mixed use area similar to others in Dundee so elements are likely to be replicable. “Fuel poverty levels are high. “The neighbourhoods of Lochee and Menzieshill are currently in the process of regeneration which will include new developments in the near future.

“This will also provide the opportunity to test the project in a developing community.”

Work is due to start this year in Kirk Street, Lochee; Mike Galloway.
