New MOT categories

Evening Telegraph (First Edition) - - Uk World Today -

NEW MOT categories have been introduced.

Dangerous is “a direct and immediate risk to road safety”. The vehicle should not be driven until it’s been repaired. This will be a fail.

Also a fail is something deemed as “major” as it may affect the vehicle’s safety or put other road users at risk. Repair it immediately.

Minor faults should be repaired as soon as possible. Anything that is an “advisory” should be monitored and repaired if necessary.

A pass means that the vehicle meets the minimum legal standard.
