Spotlight on food and drink

Evening Telegraph (Late Extra Edition) - - PUZZLES -

FIFE’S food and drink producers have been pitching their products to international buyers during a gastronomic tour of the kingdom.

As part of Showcasing Scotland, buyers visited Fife to sample quality products and find out their origins.

Labour councillor Altany Craik, convener of the economy, tourism, strategic planning and transportation committee, said: “We are delighted to be showcasing some of our outstanding food and drink businesses from across Fife. Trading outside of Scotland and overseas can open up a mass of opportunities.

“Showcasing Scotland is shining a spotlight on Fife and this is a great opportunity for some of our most innovative, established and emerging f o od and dr i n k manufacturers.”

Mr Craik said food and drink was a key sector, particularly in north-east Fife, and that Fife Council would have an action plan to support businesses and drive forward innovation by the start of next year.
