Food quality will be at risk

Evening Telegraph (Late Extra Edition) - - YOURVOICE - Susan Swain.

THE quality and safety of our food is protected by standards introduced by the EU.

Unless Scotland becomes independent before Brexit and remains in the EU, we will lose this protection.

After Brexit, if we stay in the UK, there will be no guarantee protection for food quality will remain.

Producers will once again have a free-hand to include all kinds of artificial colours, preservatives and E numbers — without obligation to detail these on labels.
