In­truder dis­turbed in house

PO­LICE have ap­pealed for in­for­ma­tion af­ter a house in West Ferry was bro­ken into.

A crook tar­geted the prop­erty in Stra­chan Av­enue at about 7pm on Sun­day.

How­ever, the per­son was dis­turbed and made off empty-handed.

A spokesman for Po­lice Scot­land said: “The house was bro­ken into by way of a glass panel in a back door be­ing bro­ken.

“For­tu­nately the per­son re­spon­si­ble was dis­turbed and did not man­age to take any­thing once they had gained en­try.

“Of­fi­cers would like to trace a man de­scribed as in his 40s, with short brown or grey­ing hair, wear­ing a cream-coloured waist-length jacket.

“If you have any in­for­ma­tion which could as­sist with our in­quiries, please call 101 or speak with any po­lice of­fi­cer.

“Also, in­for­ma­tion can be given anony­mously through Crimestop­pers on 0800 555 111.
