Pro­lific shoplifter breaches or­der

RYAN Ogilvie, 29, of Balu­nie Drive, ad­mit­ted breach­ing a re­stric­tion of lib­erty or­der by com­mit­ting six fur­ther of­fences.

He ad­mit­ted at Dundee Sher­iff Court that on Au­gust 1, at Tesco Ex­press, Brook Street, Broughty Ferry, he stole al­co­hol; on Septem­ber 16, at Ice­land, Camp­field Square, he stole food items; on Oc­to­ber 21, at KFC in Tom John­stone Road, he stole a pedal bi­cy­cle; on Novem­ber 11 at MS News, Cam­phill Square, he stole an­other pedal bi­cy­cle and on the same date at Co-op in Clay­potts Road, he stole food items. Ogilvie fur­ther ad­mit­ted that on the same date, at the same place, he as­saulted staff mem­ber Shan­ice Lav­ery and threw ba­nanas at her.

The re­stric­tion of lib­erty or­der had been im­posed af­ter he com­mit­ted a cat­a­logue of of­fences, in­clud­ing steal­ing elec­tric­ity, dam­ag­ing a me­ter by in­sert­ing a wire and by­pass­ing the me­ter and pre­vent­ing the me­ter from reg­is­ter­ing the quan­tity of elec­tric­ity sup­plied at a flat in Aboyne Av­enue. He had fur­ther ad­mit­ted tak­ing and driv­ing away a car from Balerno Street and driv­ing with­out a li­cence or in­surance, shoplift­ing, as­sault­ing an em­ployee of Marks & Spencer in Sea­gate by throw­ing a bi­cy­cle at him, strik­ing him on the body and breach­ing the peace in Aboyne Av­enue in Au­gust.

S e n t e n c e was de­ferred un­til Novem­ber 16.
