Stars aim­ing to keep a win­ning mo­men­tum

DUNDEES­tars will be aim­ing to make it three home wins on the trot when Cardiff Devils visit Dundee Ice Arena tonight (f/o 7.30pm).

Since their last de­feat on home ice from Belfast Gi­ants at the start of the month, the Tay­side out­fit have bounced back with vi­tal league vic­to­ries over Manch­ester Storm and the men from Ul­ster on Sun­day to pick up valu­able points.

How­ever, last sea­son’s league cham­pi­ons Cardiff will also be ea­ger to col­lect full marks this evening, sit­ting just four points be­hind ta­ble-top­pers Manch­ester Storm but with four games in hand over them.

For­mer Stars favourite Justin Faryna will line up against Omar Pacha’s in­jury-hit Dundee squad but Devils de­fence­man Craig Moore will not face his old club af­ter pick­ing up a lower­body wound at the week­end.

Omar is con­fi­dent his team can keep their win­ning mo­men­tum go­ing against the Welsh­men and said: “We are ex­cited about the chal­lenge of play­ing a strong Cardiff side that has done very well re­cently. We are play­ing short­benched but we won our last two games at home and, hope­fully, we can keep the mo­men­tum go­ing tonight.”
