Cafe for car­ers launched

DUNDEE Car­ers Cen­tre is launch­ing a new car­ers cafe at the Ardler Com­plex.

The cafe is for any­one who cares for a fam­ily mem­ber or friend and is free to visit.

A launch event will take place on Wed­nes­day June 6 from 11am-1pm when re­fresh­ments and lunch will be pro­vided.

Car­ers are in­vited to come along for sup­port, ac­tiv­i­ties and in­for­ma­tion in­clud­ing ad­vice on free health checks.

The cen­tre’s short breaks team will give a talk ex­plain­ing how tak­ing short breaks can pro­vide car­ers with more op­por­tu­nity to en­joy life out­side their role as a carer.

There will also be an ex­er­cise chal­lenge called Chair Zumba.

Dundee Car­ers Cen­tre aims to im­prove the lives of un­paid car­ers and dis­abled peo­ple by pro­vid­ing in­for­ma­tion, sup­port and en­sur­ing the rights of car­ers and dis­abled peo­ple are up­held.
