New school menu is served

DUNDEE City Coun­cil launched its new school meals menu with a prom­ise to de­liver health­ier op­tions to pupils dur­ing term time.

The 2017-18 menu will see fruit juice with­drawn and desserts lim­ited to three days to re­duce sugar con­tent.

In a move to re­strict the use of pro­cessed foods, 70% of the menu is pre­pared in-house.

Pupils all across Tay­side were con­sulted dur­ing the menu de­sign process and helped in tri­als.
