Sculpture prizes on offer

Evening Telegraph (Late Extra Edition) - - UK WORLD TODAY -

THE Friends Of The William Lamb Studio group has announced that applications are closed for its annual children’s sculpture competition.

It looks like it will be the largest entry ever.

On Saturday children from the six Montrose primary schools and Montrose Academy will gather to see who can produce the most interesting clay sculpture on the day.

They will be given clay and an hour to create their piece.

Many will be modelling in clay for the first time.

Prizes will be offered to the top three entries in three age groups, and the overall winner will also be awarded the special Lamb Medal.

A spokesman for the friends group said: “We have been holding the Lamb Children’s Sculpture competition for 37 years now.

“The standard of last year’s entries was exceptionally high, but we are expecting this to be another inspirational and fun day.”
