Hotel’s a win­ner

A HOTEL has picked up its fifth award since Oc­to­ber. Bal­birnie House’s head chef Robbie Pen­man was named Scot­tish Ex­ec­u­tive Chef Of The Year at the Scot­tish Food Awards.

The Mark­inch venue was named Scot­land’s 2018 Wed­ding Hotel Of The Year by the Scot­tish Hotel Awards last month for a record-break­ing 12th con­sec­u­tive year.

It also won a hat-trick of ac­co­lades at the Haute Grandeur Awards in Oc­to­ber: best func­tion venue, best ro­man­tic hotel and best des­ti­na­tion wed­ding hotel in Europe.

Managing di­rec­tor Ni­cholas Rus­sell said he was proud of Robbie’s achieve­ment.
