Winter fuel boost for residents

-

RESIDENTS in Maryhill’s Wyndford estate have been given a winter fuel boost.

Energy firm SSE has announced it is extending its market first price freeze to all its domestic heat network customers.

Around 1500 Cube Housing Association tenants and 300 home owners living in Wyndford benefit from a pioneering district heating system that takes away the need for each home to have an individual boiler.

Residents benefit from heat created in a localised energy centre which is then transported to the homes.

As well as being energy efficient and saving tenants money on their existing bills, they will also have their standard prices frozen for this winter and next, giving them peace of mind.

Cube director David Mackenzie said: “Tenants and homeowners in Wyndford are already feeling the benefits of a massive £27million transformation of the estate and surrounding community which included new overcladding to the homes.

“The price freeze is even more good news and will help residents keep warm this winter without the worry of rising fuel bills.”
