Snout and about at Mer­chant City food fes­ti­val

GLAS­GOW’S taste buds were well and truly sat­is­fied as the best street food on of­fer saw out the Mer­chant City Fes­ti­val.

Around 130,000 peo­ple were ex­pected to have at­tended the fes­ti­val over the last nine days, with the Big Feed polishing off the pro­gramme of events.

From live street per­for­mances and mar­ket stalls to guided tours the fes­ti­val’s theme re­volved around the his­tory and her­itage of Glas­gow.

De­pute Lord Provost of Glas­gow, Bailie Philip Braat, said: “The Mer­chant City Fes­ti­val has been wel­com­ing thou­sands of vis­i­tors ev­ery day to one of the most his­toric parts of Glas­gow to en­joy all kinds of arts per­for­mances, mu­sic, dance, film, mar­kets and great food.”

Plan­ning is un­der way for next year’s fes­ti­val which will aim to co­in­cide with the 2018 Euro­pean Cham­pi­onships.
