Snout and about at Merchant City food festival
GLASGOW’S taste buds were well and truly satisfied as the best street food on offer saw out the Merchant City Festival.
Around 130,000 people were expected to have attended the festival over the last nine days, with the Big Feed polishing off the programme of events.
From live street performances and market stalls to guided tours the festival’s theme revolved around the history and heritage of Glasgow.
Depute Lord Provost of Glasgow, Bailie Philip Braat, said: “The Merchant City Festival has been welcoming thousands of visitors every day to one of the most historic parts of Glasgow to enjoy all kinds of arts performances, music, dance, film, markets and great food.”
Planning is under way for next year’s festival which will aim to coincide with the 2018 European Championships.
The Big Feed On Tour took place over the last three days of the Merchant City Festival
