Mod sets record
ORGANISERS of Scotland’s biggest celebration of Gaelic culture are expecting a record-breaking year for the number of participants.
The Royal National Mod is set to have more than 3,600 people take part, as the festival returns to Fort William for the first time in a decade.
During the nine-day event, thousands will compete in Highland dancing, sport, literature and drama, as well as Gaelic music and song.
John Morrison, chief executive of organisers An Comunn Gaidhealach, said: “We’re excited to be returning to Fort William for the first time in 10 years.”
The festival takes place from October 13-21.
