Glasgow City make it 11-in-a-row
GLASGOW City were crowned Scottish women’s champions for the 11th successive season after defeating Hibernian 3-0 in Edinburgh yesterday.
City, who have not conceded a goal in the league since May, raced to a 3-0 lead at the break thanks to goals from Lauren McMurchie, Hayley Lauder and Abbi Grant. Hibs, who needed to win to take the title race to the final day, were left stunned.
Scott Booth, the head coach who was claiming his third league crown with the team, said: “I am very proud of every single member of our squad. As the season has progressed we have got stronger and stronger and in the big league games against Hibs, we have taken all nine points and that is credit to the mentality and ability of this team.
