Ex-Saints boss Danny is new Clyde gaffer
CLYDE have appointed former St Mirren boss Danny Lennon as their new manager.
The Ladbrokes League Two side recently sacked Jim Chapman and sit eighth in the table with two wins from their opening 12 games.
Lennon has managed Alloa, Scotland Under-21s and Airdrie – the latter two on a temporary basis – since St Mirren decided not to renew his contract a year after he led them to League Cup glory in 2013.
The 48-year-old had led Cowdenbeath to successive promotions before keeping Saints in the top flight for four years.
Clyde chairman Norrie Innes told the club’s official website: “Danny, in preparation for his interview, attended the game against Stirling Albion and demonstrated his strong desire for the job by presenting his own detailed match analysis.
“He has a very impressive record and a substantial skill set which is what we need to develop a stronger footballing structure and positive culture within the club.
“This will be founded on the hard work we have carried out in commercial and operational areas.
“Danny spoke with passion and intelligence and he welcomes the challenges ahead.”
