Police search for woman after break-in

-

POLICE are searching for a woman who stopped to assist a man following a housebreaking.

A house in Forestfield Crescent in Newton Mearns was targeted and person items and a three-figure sum of cash was taken.

Neighbours called police after hearing the alarm and a number of people, possibly four, were seen fleeing from the house.

Constable David Orr, Community Investigation Unit, Govan Police Office, said today: “A woman driving a Ford Focus on Crookfur Road stopped to assist one of the neighbours who had reported the incident to police.

“It is believed she may have seen the suspects get into and make off in a black car on Crookfur Road.

“She may have information that will help our inquiry, possibly even dashcam footage, that will help identify the black car making off.”
