SCOTLAND’S World Cup goalkeeper Jim Leighton launched a blistering attack on religious on sectarianism in Scotland.

In an amazing interview, Leighton, who is Catholic, hit out at separate faith schools and blasted bigoted Celtic and Rangers fans.

The 40-year-old, who played for Scotland against Estonia in a vital European Championship opened his heart about the secret childhood agony he suffered while growing up in a town split by religion.

He warned the religious divide could be set to explode as the Old Firm teams grow bigger.

He said: “The sectarianism at Celtic and Rangers is 100 per cent wrong.”
