SIR: I was delighted to read the tribute to the bostin’ Black Country comedian Tommy Mundon ( Spring 2015). Years ago my father was entertainment secretary of our local Conservative Club and he frequently booked Tommy for the MWM Show or the Black Country Night Out, always resulting in a packed club. You had to get there early if you wanted a seat, otherwise you’d be standing at the back with numerous others.
It was comedy at its best. Fortunately in the Midlands we have two Black Country comedians — David Bartley and Doug Parker — both brilliant in their own way who are following in Tommy’s footsteps. Good humour never dies! — IRENE PURSLOW, BIRMINGHAM, WARWICKSHIRE.
