of Evergreen’s biggest fans is the delightful Rosemary Squires who has been singing her heart out for more than seven decades. A true Brit, she has been a champion of everything tasteful and good in music and her career has lasted longer then anyone.

Initially singing as a teenager for troops near Salisbury during the war, she became a professional with, amongst others, the bands of Geraldo, Eric Winstone and the BBC Big Band. She has sold millions of records and was the voice of numerous television adverts, including “Fry’s Turkish Delight” and “Mild Green Fairy Liquid”. In 2012 she received the British Music Hall Society’s Lifetime Achievement Award and we are delighted to give her yet another accolade.

Rose, we take the greatest of pleasure in presenting you with our Good Music Award. As the Queen Mother once said to you: “Carry on singing!”

It is an action song for children so, if you have access to the internet, why not look it up and try it out with the younger members of your family?
