GOOD MUSIC AWARD
music lovers enjoy tuneful listening on the BBC and in recent years much of it has been in the hands of Brian Kay. A choral scholar at King’s College, Cambridge, he first came to notice as the colourful and eloquent bass in the hugely popular King’s Singers.
Branching out into broadcasting his knowledge and love of all forms of melodic music became clearly evident as he hosted a string of successful shows, including Brian Kay’s Light Programme, Brian Kay’s Sunday Morning, Friday Night is Music Night, 3 for All, and Melodies for You. What a collection and what a feast of good music.
Brian is also a distinguished conductor and has held a number of important positions including a stint as Director of the prestigious Huddersfield Choral Society. There are many more strings to his musical bow but throughout all his singing, directing, conducting and presenting, he has remained loyal to good tuneful fayre.
On behalf of all our readers, thank you Brian for your ongoing musical inspiration.
