Evergreen - - News - EILEEN HALLIDAY,

MADAM: I was very interested in the “Sea Rescue” letter from Moss Tennison (“Clippings”, Autumn 2016) about the lifeboat launch from the Dilwara. My late husband, when on National Service, 1946- 48, returned from Malaya on the Dilwara and kept notes and photographs from his time abroad.

On the back of a postcard of the ship he had noted the mileage travelled each day, and against the entry for 28th July 1948 it reads: “280. Girl overboard.”

Like Mr. Tennison, I hope the rescued girl is alive and well. — YORK.
