Sunset

Evergreen - - Contents - Elizabeth Gozney

The radiance of the setting sun Is beauty to behold, It gilds majestic rising cliffs In hues of flame and gold. Its slanting beams, illuminate A pathway o’er the sea, Contrasting with the darkening shore In quiet serenity. This timeless hour to gather strength, As swiftly fades the light — Then purple shadows blend and merge, To cloak encroaching night.
