SONG CARTOONS

How well did you do last time? The first cartoon was “Run Rabbit Run” made famous in the war by Flanagan and Allen, while the second was “Rock Around the Clock” by Bill Haley and His Comets, a name clearly linked to Halley’s Comet. Here are two more musical cartoons to amuse you.

FRANCIS JACKSON

Francis was Director of Music at York Minster from 1946 until 1982. Born at nearby Malton, on 2nd October 1917, he is now approaching his 100th birthday, having packed in a lifetime of achievements, including travelling around the world giving recitals. Congratulations!

This was a popular music hall song.
