FIRST DUKE’S PRICELESS TAPESTRY
BLENHEIM PALACE’S 300 YEAR old Brabant Tapestry has been returned to its former glory following a 12 month renovation project in Belgium and the UK. The tapestry is one of a series commissioned by the First Duke of Marlborough between 1706-1710 to celebrate his stunning victories in the War of Spanish Succession. After cleaning in Belgium, it was returned to the UK and taken to Emma Telford's studio to be painstakingly conserved. The delicate and intricate process of restoring each tapestry takes between 9 and 12 months to complete and costs £30,000.
