1 POWERFUL DRAMA
JUDE LAW steps onto the Barbican stage on 19 April. He's starring in a new stage version of Luchino Visconti’s 1943 Obsession, the first Italian Neorealist film based on the passionate crime novel, The Postman Always Rings Twice by James M. Cain. Law is the tramp, Gino, who embarks on an ill-fated affair with the wife of a restaurant owner whilst plotting to kill her husband. “I can’t wait to return to the Barbican, where I performed 22 years ago with the RSC,” says Law.
Obsession is on from 19 April to 20 May 2017 at the Barbican Theatre, Silk Street, London EC2Y 8DS, 020 7638 8891. » barbican.org.uk
