Toulouse Lautrec’s high-kicking can-can stars and black-gloved cabaret singers take centre stage at Edinburgh’s Scottish National Gallery as a new show, Pin ps" Toulouse-lautrec and the Art of Celebrity, opens on 6 October. All the favourite Montmartre stars are there including the frenetic La Goulue +The Glutton, who downed people’s drinks as she danced past. Posters peeled from the Moulin Rouge and other cabaret walls evoke the louche vibe of this Belle /po0ue entertainment. Letters, song sheets and even singer, 1vette Guilbert’s touring trunks add personal insight.
