First News - - Your News - by Madeleine Delaney and Violet Hopkinson

WE did a number of different fun activities to complete our 100-mile challenge for charity, such as cycling, swimming, hiking and exciting things like rafting and canoeing! Even if it’s raining, we still go out and do something every day!

Our two selected charities are Brain Tumour Research and Hertfordshire Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre Ltd. We have chosen these two charities as they are close to our hearts. Madeleine’s auntie sadly passed away from a brain tumour many years ago and Violet’s granny suffers from multiple sclerosis (MS), which limits her movement and causes pain. She attends her MS therapy centre weekly to manage her pain and mobility. It has made a massive impact on her quality of life.

I was really keen to do something to help the centre that helps granny, to raise funds and create awareness, so that other MS sufferers can benefit.

Both are really worthy causes and we have had lots of fun covering our miles. So far we are well on target, having completed 66 miles so far, with still a few weeks left to go, and we have already achieved our target of raising over £500.

We’ll let you know once we’ve completed our 100-mile summer challenge.
