The conflict in Syria is now in its seventh year.

Firas lost both of his legs during an attack in 2015. “I was helping my father in the shop when a mortar landed, killing my father, and leaving me severely injured,” he says. After a referral from UNICEF to a local organisation, Firas underwent surgery at a health centre and is due to receive prosthetic legs within a month. “Once I receive my prosthesis, I will be able to walk again,” says Firas.
