NEW re­search shows that peo­ple are tak­ing time off work and mak­ing un­nec­es­sary doc­tor ap­point­ments be­cause they are con­stantly look­ing up med­i­cal con­di­tions on the in­ter­net. Symp­toms of health anx­i­ety, also known as hypochon­dria, in­clude chest pains and headaches, but they aren’t caused by any se­ri­ous con­di­tion. Doc­tors are call­ing the prob­lem “cy­ber-chon­dria”.
