TRAGEDY AT LAS VEGAS FESTIVAL
A GUNMAN who attacked a country music festival in Las Vegas, US, killed at least 59 people, making it the worst mass shooting in American history.
As First News went to press, police did not know why Stephen Paddock, 64, carried out the attack. More than 500 people were injured as Paddock fired down from his hotel room, which contained 23 weapons. Paddock killed himself before police entered his room.
The events have started a gun debate in America that takes place every time there is a mass shooting. Donald Trump’s Republican party and his supporters generally back the right to carry guns. But others are calling for greater gun control.
People wait in line to give blood to help the injured. Stories like this can be upsetting, but they are only in the news because they are so rare. If you’re worried at all, go to first.news/worries for some advice that may help
