Cup crisis

First News - - Home News -

Did you know that takeaway cups you only use once are bad for the environment? If they’re not recycled they can have an impact on our seas. The Marine Conservation Society carried out a survey, which revealed that 72% of people in Scotland would like people to be charged for single-use coffee cups. This would encourage customers to bring them back for recycling, or to use refillable coffee cups and drinks bottles instead. What do you think? People marched through the city to raise awareness of the plight of wild animals. The Global March For Elephants, Rhinos And Lions theme is ‘March against extinction’ and supporters hope to put pressure on governments to stop the poaching of animals and end the trade in ivory and rhino horn (see p3).
