DRAMATIC GOODBYE FLIGHT
MOST people will never get to live their dreams of going into space, but one Sheffield company is offering people the chance to spend all eternity up there…
If you don’t like talking about death, look away now, because Ascension Flights’ business is all about space funerals!
The idea is that a small rocket blasts off with a canister of a person’s ashes, then releases them 35km above Earth. An onboard HD camera will film the release against the curve of Earth and the darkness of space, and Ascension claims that moisture in the canister will create “a plume of glitter”.
It’s doubtful that much (if any) of the ashes will go into outer space, but it sounds like a very cool send-off! What do you think?
