LAST weekend we went to Alton Towers Resort to put their Scarefest Halloween mazes to the test. Here’s how we got on.

After a long journey, we finally arrived at Alton Towers. As it was raining, we decided to go swimming at the Splash Landings Hotel. We had a great time firing the water cannons, going on the slides and whizzing round the lazy river.

After lunch, we made our way into the park. We managed to go on lots of the rollercoasters, including the amazing Galactica ride, which sees you soaring off into space. We then headed back to the hotel to check in and have a rest.

Just before it started to get dark, we made our way back into the park, and came across several zombies, who put on a spooky dance routine.

This year there are lots of mazes to choose from; we went to the House Of Monsters one first. This one is best for those aged eight and under. You had to help a monster hunter discover the truth about the monsters living in a disused house.

We also tried out the Altonville Mine Tours maze and uncovered the legend of the Skin Snatchers. The Terror Of The Towers maze is set in the park’s towers, and with the crazy monks, freaky music and all the twists and turns, you’ll definitely be screaming by the end of it. These mazes are for older children and parents.

After the mazes, we went on Rita, Nemesis and Oblivion in the dark. It was scary to go on the rollercoasters in the dark, but so much fun.

We all had a scare-tastic time! For more information, visit altontow
