ENG­LAND have won the Un­der-17 World Cup in In­dia, af­ter com­ing from 2-0 down to beat Spain 5-2 in the fi­nal.

Manch­ester City’s Phil Fo­den, who won the Player Of The Tour­na­ment award, scored twice, while Liver­pool’s Rhian Brew­ster scored once to take his World Cup to­tal to eight goals. Brew­ster got Eng­land’s first goal, just be­fore half-time.

Af­ter the break, the equaliser for Eng­land came from Mor­gan Gibbs-White, who is one of the few play­ers in the squad to have first-team ex­pe­ri­ence, hav­ing played in the Cham­pi­onship for Wolves.

Chelsea de­fender Marc Guehi scored Eng­land’s fourth.

The in­cred­i­ble re­sult means Eng­land have won two World Cups this year, af­ter the un­der-20 side tri­umphed in June.
