The RSPB is encouraging people to stop squashing spiders and to give them a home. The UK is home to 650 different species of spider and they are actually really useful. They eat bugs in your house and chomp on insects that feast on farmers’ crops, so they act as a natural pesticide. In fact, daddy long-legs spiders (also known as cellar spiders) eat around 700,000 tonnes of bugs every year. Do you let spiders live in your house?
