NASA’s Mars 2020 rover mis­sion will con­tain 23 in­di­vid­ual ‘eyes’ to ob­serve the Red Planet – more than any other rover ever. The cam­eras, which can take 3D im­ages, will be placed all over the lit­tle ve­hi­cle. It’s a big leap for­ward for NASA’s Mars rovers: when Pathfinder landed on the planet in 1997, it had just five cam­eras on board!
