NADIYA Hussain stole the nation’s hearts when she won The Great British Bake Off in 2015. Since then, she’s delighted fans with her cooking shows and creations. Now, she’s getting us into the Christmas spirit with her second kids’ cookbook, Bake Me A Festive Story. Can you tell us a little bit about your new book?

Well, my kids inspired the original idea. They love books and I’m always in the kitchen cooking. This one is very similar to the first book [Nadiya’s Bake Me A Story]. There are 30 recipes, along with 30 stories and poems. The recipes are woven into the stories, which is lovely because it allows children, parents, whoever to really bring the stories to life!

What’s the biggest kitchen fail you’ve ever had?

Ooh, I have loads! I made a liquid chocolate cake in a loose-bottomed tin, but I didn’t secure the bottom and it went everywhere! It all baked onto the base of the oven and I had to get it off with a spatula.
