Archibald and Barker also won gold in the madison, and Britain’s men’s team won their team pursuit final.
tennis Fed Cups have now been won by the USA after they beat Belarus 3-2 in this year’s best-of-five final. It was the Americans’ first win in 17 years. The dramatic tie saw US Open champion Sloane Stephens lose 4-6, 6-1, 8-6 to Aliaksandra Sasnovich, before Coco Vandeweghe and Shelby Rogers beat Aryna Sabalenka and Sasnovich 6-3, 7-6 in the decider.
