LICENCE TO FLY PLANS TO MAKE DRONE OWNERS TAKE A TEST
DRONE owners in the UK may soon have to take a ‘flying test’ under new rules planned by the Government.
The safety awareness test comes after an increase in the number of near misses between drones and aircraft over the last year.
New rules may also mean that drones weighing more than 250g would be banned from flying near airports or above 122m high. Police would also be able to ground drones that were being used for illegal reasons.
The new bill is set to be debated in Parliament in spring 2018 and has been welcomed by pilots.
