WHAT CAN YOU DO?
The human rights organisation Child Soldiers International runs a Red Hand Day campaign, to make more people aware of the plight of child soldiers. Pupils have been using the Red Hand Day logo to make powerful posters, such as this one. If you want to learn more and discuss the problem at school, ask your teacher to go to
where they can find loads of useful resources, lesson plans and images. Lianne Minasian of Child Soldiers International says: “Sadly, thousands of school-aged children are still being used to fight adult wars. All children deserve an education and a childhood, and we hope more schools can learn about the issue of child soldiers and help us ensure no child is recruited for war.”
