Aldi, Asda, Waitrose, Co-op, Lidl, Sainsbury’s and Tesco are all working together as part of the Peas Please scheme to get us eating our greens.

Did you know the UK ranks eighth worst in Europe for eating vegetables? Or that 95% of our teenagers don’t eat enough veg?

Peas Please aims to change all that and is bringing together businesses and brands to help. It’s hoped that by joining forces, supermarkets, schools and shops will be

able to offer more vegetables at better prices and better quality.

The seven supermarkets listed have also promised to develop and promote more vegetable products and make sure vegetables are in the best places in their stores.

It’s believed that 20,000 deaths a year could be prevented by increasing our vegetable and pulses (beans, lentils etc) consumption. So, what are we waiting for? Let’s get munching those great greens!

Get in my belly!
