Huge protests have erupted across Belarus, following election results that saw current President Alexander Lukashenko win with 80% of the vote. Since the result came out, there have been accusations of widespread vote-rigging (cheating). The main opposition candidate, Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, says she considers herself the election winner, but is thought to have fled the country. More than 3,000 people have been arrested, hundreds injured and one person is thought to have died in clashes with the police.
