BAN KILLER BOTS

A NEW report from Human Rights Watch has announced that there is growing support for a global ban on ‘killer robots’.

The report says that autonomous systems (ones that can find and shoot at targets without needing any real input from a human) are a “grave threat to humanity” and must be banned internationally.

So far, 30 countries have called for a ban on weapons systems that could target and attack human beings by themselves, but Russia and the US have blocked discussions.
